Baseball, Basketball (1905-1970)
We have recently uploaded the Baseball, Basketball images in the Athletics series of the photographic collection. Palama Settlement proudly hosted practices, games, tournaments, and leagues since 1905. Children and young adults living in the densely populated neighborhood of Kalihi-Pālama played sports on Palama Settlement's recreational courts with many teams winning championships. The images not only document the popular sports of baseball and basketball, but they also celebrate the players who spent hours of training at Palama Settlement.
